The American Academy of Pediatrics announces updated guidelines for pediatricians treating patients with Down syndrome
Parents, have you been looking for information to share with your pediatrician regarding the medical care of your child? Have you "heard" about a certain test or procedure that you think your child might benefit from and are having a difficult time convincing your pediatrician of the value of such a test/procedure? Do you have difficulty communicating with your doctor about certain medical topics related to your child? Take a look at the AAP Guidelines [pdf] for information that might be helpful to you and your pediatrician. Do NOT ASSUME that your pediatrician has reviewed this, remember; your child is one of many patients they see, help educate them about updated information and resources.
