Grandparents Community Group

About Our Community Group
The Longmont Grandparents/Extended
Family Support Group meets monthly
to share experiences, joys, concerns,
and friendship with others who have
grandchildren with Down syndrome.
Our Longmont group keeps growing
each year with approximately 22-plus
members as of January 2009.
Our group meets to encourage and
strengthen each other by understanding
the different milestones as our grandchildren
meet them.
About Our Meetings
We usually have two socials each
year which include our grandchildren
- a Halloween party in the fall and
a picnic during the summer. Our other
meetings usually include a guest
speaker, followed by time for members
to share their personal experiences
and concerns. Our main mission, of
course, is reaching out to brand
new grandparents to give them the
support and encouragement they need
at the time of their grandchild's
birth.
The Grandparents Group is open
to any grandparent, aunt, uncle or
family friend impacted by Down syndrome
and is just a great way to feel that
you are not alone in this great adventure!
We would love to have you join us
at any time. Please feel free to
contact MHDSA at 303-797-1699 for
more information!
