About Our Community Group
Our meetings
are held the second Saturday of the
month from 10:00 a.m. to noon at
the Jacob home in the Meadows of
Castle Rock, Colorado. Our group
has just started in June of 2009.
We would love to not only meet once
a month, but have some social activities
outside of our regular meetings.
Some possibilities are visiting the
pumpkin patch, meeting at Westlands
Park for play and a picnic, attending
the Castle Rock starlighting event
as a group in November, or checking
out the Douglas County Fair together.
The focus of age range for kids in
our group is birth to 7 years of
age, although any age is welcome.
About Our Meetings
Our meetings are
open to family members and friends
of children with Down syndrome. As
our group grows, we will have babysitters
present to help with the children,
so the adults are able to more easily
talk.
Our meetings are very casual and
informal. We do try to have a small
portion of the meeting dedicated
to sharing what our loved ones with
Down syndrome have recently accomplished
and on what they are currently working.
We would also like to have some speakers
attend our meetings from time to
time. Our goal for our group is to
have a place where we can support
each other through any challenges
encountered and celebrate the accomplishments
made.
